Our Story

Photo taken August 2003 at the Truman State University Farm.

In 2002, Tristan and Christy first met at an intercollegiate horse show in Columbia, Missouri.  Christy rode for the Truman State Team and Tristan was announcing the horse show.  Even though they were attending the same university, their classes had never allowed their paths to cross. (Christy studied Music and Tristan studied Economics).  The following summer, the two happened to wind up on the farm crew at the Truman State University Farm.   From the first day of working together on the farm, the two were a pair.

Their love of the outdoors, hard-work, and horses kept the couple busy!  Tristan bought his first horse and the couple spent many hours training and showing their horses.  Their herd grew from Christy's three Quarter Horses to ten Paint and Quarter Horses.  Their horses are featured on their website at www.lovenduski.com.

In December 2004, Tristan joined the team at Midwest, Inc (where he is currently employed).  This position brought him to Kansas City.  Christy remained at Truman State to finish her Masters in Education, then joined Tristan in the city.   She is employed by the North Kansas City School District and teaches private saxophone, clarinet, and flute lessons at Meyer Music.  The couple share their apartment with their cat, Poly, and their whippet, Zach.
